HELPING COMMUNITIES AND BRIDGING COMMUNITES TOGETHER…

The United Indian Muslim Association (UIMA) is a registered volunteer welfare service organization.

UIMA is an associate member of National Council of Social Service (NCSS). It is also a member of Mendaki.

UIMA's other primary working parents include MCYS, MUIS, Singapore Buddhist Lodge, MUIS, Sinda, CDCs, Federation of Indian Muslims, Jamiyah and Family Service Centres.

Since its inception in 1963, UIMA is dedicated to helping communities, and promoting goodwill, understanding and cooperation amongst the various communities in Singapore.

Of the various initiatives organized by UIMA, one of the well-known programmes is the bursary awards. These awards are given to needy students, irrespective of their racial, religious and cultural background. Some 250 students are given these bursary awards annually.

UIMA has since amended its constitution to further expand its involvement in child care services, social and welfare development at national level. The constitutional change is directed at making UIMA a national contributor in the area of community development.

With the constitutional change, UIMA's core activity now includes running a Child Care Centre under the brand name of Little Dolphins Playskool.

This is in addition to its other activities which include the fore-mentioned annual education bursary award, annual National Day celebrations, cross-cultural dialogues, and moral education.
